Not "family friendly" in the general sense, hotels with a genuine, documented programme for autistic guests, ADHD and sensory processing needs. Every hotel below has a real, named feature I could verify from the hotel's own site, the tour operator or a recognised accessibility body, and every single one is bookable through TUI, Jet2holidays or easyJet holidays.
I've already written about the Sunflower lanyard, airport assistance and your rights if you're travelling with a hidden disability, that's a separate guide and worth reading if it's airports and flights you're worried about. This one is about the accommodation itself, and specifically about autism, ADHD and sensory processing needs rather than physical or mobility access, which is its own subject with its own requirements.
A kids' club and a big pool don't automatically mean a hotel understands sensory overload, meltdowns, or a child who needs a predictable routine to cope with a new environment. A genuinely useful hotel for a neurodivergent family has something specific: a quiet space to retreat to, staff who've had real training rather than a five minute briefing, or a formal certification from a recognised body. That's the bar I've used for every hotel on this page.
If a hotel's own website doesn't specifically mention autism, ADHD, sensory rooms or a named accessibility certification, don't assume it has any of this in place just because it looks like a nice family resort. Ask directly, and get whatever's promised confirmed in writing before you travel.
Every hotel here has at least one specific, currently verifiable feature, a dedicated sensory room, a named accessibility certification, documented staff training, or all three, sourced directly from the hotel's own site, the tour operator, or the certifying body itself. I've deliberately left out hotels that only turn up on generic "autism friendly resort" blog lists with no verifiable detail behind the claim, and I haven't guessed at features based on a hotel simply looking family oriented. Where I couldn't verify something properly, I've left the hotel off rather than including it and hoping for the best. I'll say plainly further down where I couldn't find enough to include a whole country or board type, rather than padding the list out.
Gran Canaria has more genuinely verified hidden disability support than anywhere else on this list, across two completely separate programmes.
TUI's own hotel brand has built dedicated sensory rooms, low stimulation spaces with soft lighting and interactive sensory equipment, into a cluster of its Bahía Feliz hotels: TUI BLUE Playa Feliz, TUI BLUE Las Pitas and TUI BLUE Tres Vidas (all self catering apartments) and TUI BLUE Orquídea (all-inclusive). All frontline staff across the TUI BLUE sensory room hotels have completed enhanced neurodiversity awareness training through a partnership with SENNIES, a specialist SEN childcare agency, and kids' clubs carry sensory bags with tactile, visual and auditory items. Bookable through TUI.
Gloria Thalasso & Hotels was recognised as the first hotel group in Europe to hold the Autism Friendly Club certification, covering Gloria Palace San Agustín Thalasso & Hotel, Gloria Palace Amadores Thalasso & Hotel and Gloria Palace Royal Hotel & Spa. All three offer a fast check-in protocol, pictogram signage and adapted menus, and visual guides to help prepare for the stay before arrival, with staff trained and aware of autism spectrum disorder. All Inclusive Plus, half board and bed and breakfast are all available. Bookable through Jet2holidays.
If a sensory room is the one thing that matters most, ask me to check current availability at the BahÃa Feliz TUI BLUE hotels specifically, they're the only Gran Canaria properties with a dedicated room rather than a wider awareness programme.
Tenerife has the widest spread of verified options of any single island, across three different operators and three different price points.
A 5★ hotel in Costa Adeje, certified Autism Friendly by Autism Friendly Club. Sensory kits are available at reception, over 75% of staff have completed specialist autism training, and the hotel provides anticipation guides, adapted maps and pictogram signage throughout, plus a pre-travel form so families can share sensory needs and preferences in advance. Half board or bed and breakfast. Bookable through TUI, Jet2holidays and easyJet holidays.
A 4★ all-inclusive hotel in Los Cristianos, named by Spain's own national tourist board among the country's leading examples of inclusive tourism, with a fast check-in protocol, pictogram signage, adapted menus and downloadable easy read guides, and staff trained and aware of autism spectrum disorder. Bookable through TUI, Jet2holidays and easyJet holidays.
KN Hotels runs its own autism friendly programme across several Tenerife properties, including KN Arenas del Mar in El Médano and KN Aparthotel Columbus in Playa de las Américas (self catering or all-inclusive), with a fast check-in protocol, pictogram menus and signage, easy read guides and staff trained and sensitised in autism spectrum disorder. Bookable through TUI and easyJet holidays.
Beyond Gran Canaria and Tenerife, three more verified hotels spread across a third Canary island, a fourth, and the Balearics.
Costa Calma, part of the same KN Hotels autism friendly programme as the Tenerife properties above, with the same fast check-in, pictogram signage and ASD trained staff. All inclusive, half board or bed and breakfast. Bookable through Jet2holidays and easyJet holidays.
Puerto del Carmen, part of the same Autism Friendly Club certified Gloria Thalasso & Hotels group covering the Gran Canaria hotels above. Self catering apartments. Bookable through Jet2holidays and easyJet holidays.
Port des Torrent, on Ibiza's west coast, and the very first hotel where TUI opened a dedicated sensory room, soothing lights, calming sounds and gentle textures, alongside neurodiversity trained staff. All-inclusive. Bookable through TUI.
Fuerteventura and Lanzarote rarely come up in autism friendly holiday searches at all, most families only ever hear about Gran Canaria and Tenerife. Worth knowing both islands have a genuinely verified option if either suits your dates or budget better.
Turkey's verified options are newer and, honestly, thinner than Spain's. TUI opened dedicated sensory rooms at two of its TUI BLUE hotels for the 2026 season, both all-inclusive, both on the Turkish Riviera.
On the Turkish Aegean coast near Dalaman, with a new sensory room for 2026, open access rooms, parent and baby sensory sessions for ages 0 to 2, and family activity sessions, plus the same neurodiversity trained staff as TUI's Spanish sensory room hotels. All-inclusive. Bookable through TUI.
On the Turkish Riviera near Antalya, with the same new 2026 sensory room, open access hours and staff training as TUI BLUE Tropical. All-inclusive. Bookable through TUI.
Both Turkey sensory rooms are brand new for 2026, so if a member of TUI's team can't yet tell you much about how they run day to day, that's genuinely because the programme has only just launched there, not a sign it isn't real. Ask for the SENNIES trained neurodiversity champion at the resort by name once you arrive.
I want to be straight with you about this rather than padding the list out. I looked hard for a Greek equivalent to Gloria Thalasso, GF Victoria or TUI's sensory rooms, a hotel or hotel group with a real, named autism or ADHD specific feature I could verify from the hotel's own site, a tour operator's accessibility pages, or a recognised certification body such as IBCCES or Autism Friendly Club. I couldn't find one. Several blogs list Greek hotels as "autism friendly" based on general family amenities like kids' pools or quiet corners, but that's not the same as a documented programme, and I'm not willing to put a hotel on this list on that basis given how much this specific piece of advice matters to the families reading it.
Several major operators of villas and hotels in Greece, including some in Rhodes, Crete and the Ionian islands, are worth checking again in future, and I'll add Greece properly the moment I can verify something real. If you're set on Greece and this kind of support matters to your holiday, message me directly and I'll ask the hotels themselves on your behalf rather than relying on marketing copy.
Having the right hotel is only half of it, the request still needs to reach the resort properly, and each operator handles it slightly differently.
Whichever operator you book with, put the request in writing (email or the operator's own app, not just a phone call) and keep a copy. If anything's missed at the resort, having it in writing beforehand makes it far easier to sort out on the day, or to complain about afterwards if it isn't.
No. That guide covers airport and airline assistance for any hidden disability, and your legal rights around it. This one is about accommodation specifically, and specifically about autism, ADHD and sensory processing needs rather than physical or mobility access.
Contact the operator's dedicated assisted travel or accessibility team directly rather than relying on a general accessibility tick box, TUI's Assisted Travel team, Jet2holidays' Assisted Travel team, or easyJet holidays' accessibility team, and get it in writing. Timeframes vary, so the earlier you ask, the better.
Most of the features described, sensory rooms, quiet spaces, staff training and pictogram signage, are designed to help any autistic or ADHD guest, not just children. A few of the hotels mentioned, including TUI BLUE Isla Cristina Palace style adults only concepts, are adults only by design, so check the age policy for the specific hotel you're considering.
It might still be a good fit, I've only included hotels with a feature I could verify, not every hotel that could genuinely work for your family. Message me and I'll check what's actually documented for a specific hotel before you book, rather than relying on a review or a blog's say so.
Tell me who's coming and what matters most, a sensory room, a specific board type, a certain budget, and I'll take care of getting the right support requested properly, not just the room booked.
